Pelletskessel sind vollautomatische Heizsysteme, welche ähnlich wie Öl- oder Gasheizungen funktionieren. Der Brennstoff wird von einem Lagerraum automatisch zum Kessel befördert.
Je nach Regelung der Pelletsheizung ist auch die Anbindung von Solaranlagen, Zweitkesseln und anderer Komponenten möglich.
